The challenge with Blu-Ray authoring is…uhmm…no one does it except for the guys over in Hollywood! Hence we made it our job to understand this specialised field of video post production. We are proud to announce that FTB Multimedia is currently is only production company that can author a video to Blu-Ray disc.
Why author to Blu-Ray?
As you will be aware – the video / TV / film world is transitioning to High Definition. There are no less that 10x different HD formats – each format has parameters with variable settings. Within all those formats we also find different CODEC’s.
Here at Megaphone Media we acquire and edit all media assets in High-Definition. Most clients require their production to be delivered on DVD. The challenge with DVD is that it does not allow for High-Definition video (with the exception of HD-DVD – a format with too many compatibility problems). This means High-Definition footage must be down converted for DVD. The only practical way then to deliver a production in its original High-Definition format is to put it on a Blu-Ray disc.
FTB Multimedia deploys TWO Blu-ray authoring packages allowing us to burn HD footage to Blue ray disc and also to create menu’s in HD. Currently, consumer Blue ray players are becoming more and more affordable to the general public and we find that consumers are starting to appreciate HD video productions.
